    Currie Currectlync problems

No. Good point. The way I drive the only time both front wheels will be unloaded is on a lift. Thanks all for the help. I will reinstall and take it off the hoist to check.

    Currie Currectlync problems

Ahh…so has to be on the ground to assess clearance? In my mind, I was thinking if the suspension some how was fully drooped I could have this happen. I guess that’s not realistic though.

    Currie Currectlync problems

I’ll double check — but when I installed the lift that’s what I set them to. Matched them up to the stock arms I removed.

    Currie Currectlync problems

Thanks for the help. Going to have to study up on this. Going through the how-to on the forum. When I adjust everything, should I install the Currectlync or will that not matter for axle placement and caster?

    Currie Currectlync problems

2005 TJ non-rubicon. 4” skyjacker lift with upper and lower control arms. I’ve had a rough country drag link and tie rod ends installed but want to update to a Currie Currectlync. Problem I’m having is the Currectlync is hitting the sway bar link on the axle. Looked through some posts on...

    Knot in synthetic winch rope

We had a snow storm here in CO and I was pulling out a neighbor’s friend who went off the driveway into the yard. Somehow got a knot in my brand new winch rope. Wondering if anyone has any experience with this. I know it lowers the breaking point of the rope. Just wonder if it’s enough to...

    Testing Eaton Elocker

Trying to test the Elocker I just installed in my rear Dana 44. Couple questions: 1. Is there any polarity to the wires going to the coil on the locker? Both wires are black so I’m assuming not. 2. I connected a 12V battery to the leads. I hear a click and then the yoke is pretty hard to...

Press in vs. Screw in Stud for Chromolly shaft

I’m putting Yukon chromoly axle shafts in the Dana 44 I’m rebuilding. I’m at the point that I need to install the wheel lugs. I bought some press-in Dorman studs. They don’t seem to be going in very well. I got one mostly in with a ball joint press. However, it‘s not totally seated against...

    Eaton E-Locker Anti-Rotation Bracket Play

Thanks to help from the forum I have my Dana 44 regear and lock install almost complete. One question on the Eaton elocker. How much play should I have in the anti-rotation bracket? I had quite a bit but once I got the carrier preload set correctly it's a little tighter. Is it a few thou it...

    Bad ring gear or carrier?

Moving from my other thread. Dana 44 gear install with Eaton Elocker And 4.56 Yukon gears — all new. I have not been able to get the backlash variation within spec. Today I took the carrier out and throughly cleaned the shim, races and case with some brake clean just to make sure there’s not...

Dana 44 Carrier and Pinion Bearing Preload

I believe I’m getting close to finishing my Dana 44. Regearing with new Eaton Elocker. Couple questions on preload. 1. Carrier preload. I’ve got my backlash between .006” and .008” on 4 places on the ring gear. There’s no side to side play on the carrier and I had to lightly hammer the...

Measuring cut to fit axle shafts

I’m installing an Eaton 30 spline elocker and upgrading to Yukon chrome moly axle shafts. The shafts are cut to fit. I’m not sure since the carrier is different if I can use the old shafts to measure the new ones? If not should I install the seal, bearing and retainer first and then insert...

Dana 44 Ring gear excessive runout

First time regearing an axle. Watched a lot of videos, read books etc but have a few questions and a problem. This is a stock Dana 44 out of a 2006 LJ. The carrier shims were on the outside of the carrier bearing races. The driver side (carrier side) was .143” and the passenger side (ring...

    Brake squeak without pedal pressed

Actually did flush the fluid but I think I did it after putting the new pads on. Should have flushed before pushing the piston back in….. Not feeling any heat or smelling burning brakes so not hanging badly.

    Brake squeak without pedal pressed

2005 TJ. Recently replaced front pads, rotors and brake hoses. Cleaned and greased the caliper bushings and greased the ears on the pad. Since then I have an occasional brake squeak/squeal when I’m not pressing on the pedal. Seems to happen when I’m frequently using the brakes. Today it did...
