PowerTrax No-Slip Trac-Loc Replacement on road Manners?

I've got a new to me LJ. Jeep has 140K on it. I get a clunk/bang when making a sharp right on dry pavement. I've been going though and getting a baseline on fluids. The rear Dana 44 was pretty dark with some bright flakes that I'm guessing are clutch material. I'm no expert but the wear pattern...

Need .5-1" plastic for shimming gun lockbox? Or something else?

I know you dont want to paint, but some steel 12ga plate, some EXPENSIVE square tubing from the hardware rack, and a can of spray bedliner is probably the best bet on something you could find local the same day. Or some treated plywood scraps and the same spray bedliner. Drill and stack to...

    Water forming on passenger floorboard

That looks like the right color for coolant to me. Leaking Heater Core. Condensate would not have as much color to it if any.

    Recommend aluminum radiator

I've got a Champion Cooling Systems Model# 2101 but I'm only a couple months in. Went in fine, holes lined up, etc and seems well put together.

    Exhaust manifold to downpipe bolts

I've done both methods. I think after 140K I need new hardware. I get the P0298 code every 2-3mo after a longish drive. Lying on your back with wobble extensions and u joints? Or 2 clicks on the ratchet wrench while standing up getting your arm scratched up 100 clicks later. I doubt either...

99 4.0l engine swape in 06 jeep with bad 4.0l engine

I would think that swapping the used Long Block w/head from the 99 into the.newer 06 would be the way to go. Leave the computer, wiring harness, etc alone in the 06. But 99/2000 is the break in block changes for motor mount and accessory bolt holes. So you'd be Frankensteining some things...

Decent tool set for the teenager (not Jeep specific)

Ok the 15yr old is FINALLY showing some interest in mechanical things. We picked up a Silverado beater for him to fix up. Dad has a pretty extensive tool collection. Its not that I dont want him using mine, but in a few years he will be moving on. I'd like to start putting together a decent...

    Discontinued plasma part

Not the cheap answer, but you should be able to retrofit a newer torch and lead. Hypertherm made some of the earlier Miller Plasmas. That's whom I would contact and see if they have a kit.

Hard starts after sitting all night

Likely time for a fuel pump assembly. Something is bleeding pressure off when it sits. If you don't smell gas or see any drips then its not a bad line. So either an Injector (do you gain any oil) or its on the fuel pump end. Delphi or Bosch if you can find them. Mopar is no longer made...

Full door seals, anyone have a lead on decent ones?

I 2nd this issue with APDTY that I ordered from AMZ. The drivers side tore this Fall so I replaced it with the APDTY. I get a puddle in the floor mat when parked, no its not he cowl drain, and excessive wind noise that is not there on the old crusty passenger seal. I've not replaced the...

Parts needed for front cat replacement?

Mfg Part No: 6506546AA I've got this eBay listing saved which was the only source I could find: https://www.ebay.com/itm/201647005939?mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337789113&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1 The seal is just a metal on metal tapered flange, like a plumbing...

Will bad cats not throw a CEL?

Mine had a slight hesitation at times and given the mileage I was starting to think fuel pump. I dont run it much on the interstate. But a trip to the City ended up with limp mode, P0300 code, Flashing CEL. I started with new plugs, coil rail, and O2 Sensors. It did need plugs. Still the...

Parts needed for front cat replacement?

Getting the funnel shaped flange connections lined up can be tricky. I was working by myself in the driveway and found some wood wedges and ratchet straps to be handy to get the 2 Cats and the exhaust manifold lined up. Just depends on the jig/welder when the pipe was put together. I used an...

Front Axle Dana 30 Internal Shaft CV Upgrade?

So my LJ is mainly on-road, no rock crawling or mud bogs. Back Roads, Farm Fields, and Gravel Bars getting to the fishing spots. I'm swapping in a 242 Transfer Case (from a '99 XJ) because we had 1 in our Diesel Libby that was a beast of a unstoppable tractor in slick slushy conditions. I...
