How similar are TJ and YJ rear seats? (looking at Bestop back seat covers)

Looking at getting some Bestop front seat covers in tan (spice?). But they discontinued that color rear seat cover many years ago (no idea why).

But they still make it for the YJ.

Anyone know just how different the two seats are? Folding mechanism, bracket shape/location? Overall dimensions? Trying to see if I could use a YJ cover on my back seat. It's a 97, so it has the smaller earlier style without the lever at the top.
 
@machoheadgames is the YJ guy around here. But maybe google for pics of at 95 YJ rear seat and see if you can see if they're the same-ish. Size wise i'm confident it will fit the TJ seat, but IDK if the YJ seat folds/tumbles at all or in the same way, or in a way that would make the seat cover not work.
 
Not sure about shape but the YJ seat is 36" wide and the TJ is 38" wide. I doubt it would work very well. The YJ seat folds and tumbles, using a lever on I believe the left side that pulls up and then the seat back folds down, then the whole seat pivots upward on the hinge pins (the front mount brackets).

That sounds pretty similar to the mechanism on the 97 TJ. I'm surprised the seats are that much wider...is the YJ tub width also 2" narrower?

I’ll put a tape to my seat for an exact measurement. I am mostly going off of Corbeau measurements because they sell a 36” seat for YJ/CJ and 38” for TJ.

The wheel wells are different. YJ has squared off wells like the CJ as opposed to the curvy ones in the TJ. Which I believe makes more room for a wider seat in the TJ. I’d be quite surprised if TJ and YJ have the same width seat, but we can verify later tonight when I measure the YJ.
 
The yj seat will not mount to the tj rear seat hardware…. When I got my T.J. it had a seat in the back end and I assumed it was the backseat for it… No hardware was in the jeep… After going on eBay and finding T.J. hardware I tried to install it and found out it wouldn’t and then realized it was a yj seat…
