I'm windows-out for about 10 months of the year. But even with windows on (half doors with soft uppers), I still do the ear plugs if I'm going far enough to hit a highway.
These are my personal favorites, because they are fairly slippery and just push on without having to roll them down and...
One on hand, this is a great mod, improving the utility and practicality of the bridge, reducing the odds that this ever happens again.
But also, America! Knock something down, we just build it again, but bigger. 🤣
I assume he has some other companies track bar that has the threaded joint at the frame end. He's trying to accomplish the same thing with a threaded joint that RJ does with a fixed welded one.
That gussett looks a lot different than mine. Mine has a concave cut to the back edge to clear...
Tinnitus is the damn devil. I'm currently in a flare-up from fluid behind my eardrums due to allergies. Its been a rough go trying to sleep for a few days.
I wear ear plugs when I drive the Jeep, and crank the stereo enough to hear the music, but there's zero point in trying to get any sound...
I forget if it's in the axle chapter of the main TJ FSM or a supplemental manual but there were noise descriptions to help troubleshoot and if I remember correctly, what you describe sounds more like gear noise than bearing. 🫤
So maybe the rear joint failed first, back end of the shaft came off the splines and left the building, then the centering yoke came apart when the remaining section swung around and hit something with the joint at an angle sufficient to bind...
I personally wouldn't, but it's your Jeep, and the odds of being stolen have more to do with the types of places and times of day its left unattended.
If it has the options you want, that's one thing. I'd have a hard time doing it for sound quality though.
Wow. Hard to tell what went first... But definitely something in the driveshaft.
I believe the recommended interval for greasing the centering ball is something like every other oil change, so at 30k you're well past that.
It's hard to get a good measurement of the rear because the springs are so curved, especially with adjustments made for a Cv driveshaft. If you like the ride height where it is, there's no real reason to mess with the springs, just buy a stock with lengths that put your length at ride height...
The one in the transmission is for your reverse lights. the transfer case has a speed sensor and a switch for the 4x4 indicator light. So, some of it goes back to the PCM but none of it HAS to and the PCM isn't doing any control of any of jt. It reads the speed sensor for engine control features...
You can, you just have to do it at home and stash it somewhere. It's too big to already be out and just decide you want an open sky.
Same with the windows, they're too long to roll up and ride with you. Main reason I've all but decided to go the other way and start looking for someone who...
I'm generally not against reasonable emissions laws but this one does seem like it puts a large burden on a hobby enjoyed by a relatively small population, in exchange for preventing an amount of pollution that's insignificant in the big picture.
I agree with the intent that we don't really...
There's a thread about it on here somewhere, but if I recall correctly, the short input will work on everything but the 32RH (and even that can work with a seal extender).
I'm out of town for work right now which means you actually saved me about 4 and a half hours, so thanks. 😉
It's obviously been a while since I even looked at it (basically the day I bought it when I made sure it matches the title). Whatever the last vehicle was that I actually looked at the...
Is the VIN actually on the dash? I thought it was on the tub (firewall) and just displayed through a slot on the dash?
I've never had the dash off, obviously.
