For some vehicles you absolutely shouldn't jack them up at the differential(s) but for this one it's fine. Following the factory service manual and/or owner's manual is always your best bet.

That shouldered spacer is supposed to install at the front. It prevents the bolt flange from sizing the pulley bearing once tightened. At the back there should be a cylindrical spacer.
