    WTB: 05-06 4.0 engine

I messaged the guy about the first post in NJ, it took the guy a few days to get back to me and he said it wasn’t available. Who knows why he won’t remove the post. When I went on my desktop to look at it the listing was from over a year ago. I’ll try and reach out to the person in West...

    WTB: 05-06 4.0 engine

I’m looking for a direct replacement engine for my 05. I’m located in southern PA and willing to travel a couple hours in any direction for it. Low miles, clean and fully dressed with cats preferred. When I say low miles I mean around 100k

    Gambler wheel rivet size?

I was looking at buying a set of Gamblers local to me but it appears from the pictures a bunch of the rivets have fallen off. Par for the course up here in the NE. My question is from anyone who has replaced the rivets on their wheels do you know the size of the rivet. I have found...

The weather has been nice here the past couple weeks so not much time to work on the Jeep, family first. The boys want to be outside playing with dad. We did have rain the past two days so I was able to refresh the rear axle. It like the rest of the Jeep was in pretty rough shape. The...

TJ/LJ tub soft top rail replacement

You are lucky to find wranglers in your junk yards. Any of the local ones around me never have them. Guys that specialize in Wranglers always wind up with them and sell the parts for premium money. I did happen to find one of those guys kinda local to me that is willing to sell me them. He has...

Project Newfoundland - 05 LJR preservation

I’d say it is, I mean you obviously like that Jeep a lot if you already put so much work into it. Worst case scenario you buy it and have it laying around for a while, don’t use it and get most if not all your money back. Nothing is getting cheaper these days.

Project Newfoundland - 05 LJR preservation

I’ve used Nason green etch epoxy primer and TM9 Ordinance red oxide on two different frames before but they were media blasted to bare metal. I swear the Nason literally chemically bonded to the metal I couldn’t make it chip. The frame I did in red oxide I didn’t have around long enough to know...

TJ/LJ tub soft top rail replacement

I’m looking to see if anyone has info on sourcing a replacement tub rail. My passenger side has a section rotted out of it. I have seen one company that makes the body fill section for a TJ stretch that has it on there but never found just the rail. I have also seen that Rugged Ridge makes a...

Thanks bud. I checked out your profile and read through most of your rust repair thread, I appears you’ve already been there done that. I didn’t have near the problems with broken fasteners as you did, but then I used the torch on every single bolt I removed. That seems like it was the most...

Here is a picture as she sits, everything is being done in the driveway. I forgot how much of a PITA it is working on the ground, but if you get it up in the air high enough to not really be hitting your head all the time it’s not to terrible.

I was able to bust a move today, I spent about four hours today cutting some ugly out of the back of the frame and replacing it with some fresh 10 gauge. If you decide to take a project like this on your own do yourself a huge favor and buy a plasma cutter. Hands down the best investment you...

Project Newfoundland - 05 LJR preservation

I consider the tub to be in pretty good shape. I’ve only got one hole where I blew threw it with the pressure washer. My main focus right now is getting the frame squared away so I haven’t really messed much with the body yet. I really only removed parts that were completed rotted out, the...

Project Newfoundland - 05 LJR preservation

I spent the better part of my late teens up to my mid 30’s working and moonlighting for a dear friend who has now passed wholesaling cars. He and his two brothers had a retail car business but the majority of the vehicles were wholesaled on a weekly basis they also had a 4 bay body shop and 2...

Project Newfoundland - 05 LJR preservation

I found this 2005 Unlimited Rubicon last July in NJ after a few months of searching for a new Jeep project. It is a 1 owner vehicle with 361,000 miles driven and in bone stock condition. This is the vehicle I had ultimately wanted to purchase but didn’t have the budget for it. This Jeep with the...

Take your time, I’ve moved on to rear axle for the time being. I need to do axle bearings and seals along with prep and paint. I got everything apart today and going to remove the bearings at work tonight, the new parts are suppose to be here tomorrow. I have a bunch of things to occupy myself...

    Sourcing LJ replacement rear crossmember

If I was to guess I’d say someone did a back half kit or you have a frame that took a hit to the front. I looked around the internet for a bit and couldn’t find them available, that doesn’t mean they weren’t out there at one time and now discontinued. I have to keep reminding myself these are...

If you have one please let me know. The underside where it’s boxed in on both ends is where it rotted out.
