My wife made me get it; she refuses to go on any more dates in the YJ.
I’ve only had it a couple months so I have a lot to learn. But very fun to drive. It checks all the buttons for me: modern performance with minimal tech. No traction control, no drive by wire. No power steering. Spartan interior.
Toyota 2ZZ engine (1.8L 4-cyl), aftermarket supercharger kit supposedly boosts HP to ~300. Weighs just under 2000lbs.
Much cheaper than a porsche with comparable specs, and higher wow factor. It turns heads and gets more waves then the jeep.

The Elise can be had for less than a lot of these forum members have poured into their TJs, if you’re not set on a pristine collector’s item. Even Bring A Trailer has sold some around 30k. High mileage versions can be had for that or less.
They only built 35 complete cars , but they offered kits for 3rd. party conversions. The 35 cars were JDM , but rumor has it 10 kits were imported to the US.
Which is why you haven't seen one .

Yours looks very clean. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little envious. If what you said is true about your wife, best be sure to tell her she's got good taste in cars.
The truth is, these are more attainable than many of the classics posted here. The market is a bit absurd.
