Using a forward-mount winch to go backwards - what you don't know

Interesting info that is good to have in the "tool kit" but not very useful most of the time.

Shift Interlock Solenoid / Park Cable Interlock

2004 LJ and I've done the diagnostics per @mrblaine post here https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/auto-trans-shifter-will-not-lock-42lre.61426/#post-1102625 and can't feel or see the solenoid actuate with the key in the run or start positions and the brake fully depressed. I can toggle the...

    Sticking Shift Interlock Button

2004 with a 42RLE and the interlock button on the shifter is sticking ofen not allowing the shifter to move out of park. Sometimes the button is difficult to press but it works and sometimes the button is locked up hard. At first I assumed the crappy plastic rod was broken so I pulled the...

    This Guy Hates Jeep Owners

He is painting all Jeep owners with an awfully broad brush but he must encounter this kind of jankey work on a regular basis. https://www.instagram.com/p/CaCl18al0xc/

Looks like portal axles have come a long way

... since the days of having to screw around with Unimog parts. I'm sure my LJ will never see a set of them and I don't know how much future they have with Jeepers in general. Interesting article though...

    Firefreeze Motor Max

I ended up going down the rabbit hole on Firefreeze fire suppression products investigating fire extinguisher alternatives. I'm intrigued by the Coldfire tactical extinguishers and think I'll contact a vendor and buy one of their extinguishers to try out. https://coldfiretactical.com/products/...

Any Experience with Napa's Maxi Trax Air Compressor?

Decent specs on the Napa website and other places seem to be pretty much non-existent. From bits and pieces of athered info it appears to draw 90 amps (that seems high), has a 15 on 5 off duty cycle with no stated PSI, 10 CFM at 0 PSI, and a claim it airs up a 35" tire from 20 to 35 PSI in...

California Will Start Testing for ECU Tunes During Smog Checks Starting Next Week

If your car isn't running the factory software or a tune approved by the California Air Resources Board, you'll fail the test. https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a37022836/california-ecu-tune-during-smog-checks/

How to Remove Fox Shock Bar Pin?

I need to remove the bar pins from a new pair of Fox shocks without damaging the rubber bushings. Anyone have experience with the Foxs and some useful tips and tricks? It looks like the pins are pretty beefy and their configuration might make them very difficult to extract.

Savvy's Fox TJF4 and TJR4 for Jeep LJ?

I've been happy with my Fox 2.0s but the right rear is shot. Options are to rebuild or buy new and I'm leaning toward new. Is anyone else currently running the Fox TJF4 and TJR4 shocks sold by Savvy?

    Body Roll During Left Turn

The Jeep handles like a slot car turning right but there is noticable body roll while turning left. I haven't dug in yet but am starting with the assumption that its probably time for a new set of springs. I'll take a look at the shocks too. Thoughts?

How to install thimble on steel winch cable

Bought a used Warn from a friend and the swaged loop doesn't have a thimble. Shouldn't thimbles be swaged in place? My rope looks just like the Warn replacement in this picture.

    Super Clean 98 Sport

Not my Jeep. Just found a link from the owner on ExPo. Bone stock Jeeps aren't my thing. Especially since it's a manual and way too clean for me to modify and wheel. But it may be perfect for somebody here 69k-Mile 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sport 5-Speed Bid for the chance to own a 69k-Mile 1998...

What are my Rubicon axles worth?

Eventually I'd like to upgrade to D60s and to do that I would need to sell my front and rear D44s. I didn't install them so only know what the previous owner (who didn't install them either) told me. Both front and rears are supposed to be Curries. Could be complete older Rock Jock bolt ins...
