P0743 code and pass through fitting availability

That's exactly my reason for using the resistor. To keep the CEL off, so it will pass emissions. Got it to pass the last 2 years now. Only once in a while, I still get the code. Then I just clear the codes, drive it for 2 days, to fulfill the "drive-cycle" and take it for inspection.

    Brake drum surface

I had a lot of brake squealing, and I recently checked the front discs, all looks good. Pulled the drums yesterday, and noticed this weird pattern on the drum surface. What caused this? Or is it normal?

    P0743 fixed itself?

Hi All, Just passed the 200,000 mile mark. Jeep was running fine the day before. Started her up, CEL on. OK, occasionally I get the evap small leak code. I clear it, all is good. I ignore the light, because I wanted to visit my brother, he lost his sight in one eye, and I hoped to cheer him...

Stumbling idle when stopped now stalling

First off. 01' 4.0 with 199,000 miles. Rebuilt trans. Had it for over a year now, with no issues. Whoever owned it before must of taken good care of it. Because it doesn't leak a drop of oil. Don't think I ever owned a used car that didn't leak even a little oil! Engine is obviously tired, as it...

PSA: Do your self a favor and wear PPE!

I'm glad I don't have to operate grinding machines. Our guys most duburr small parts, and sometimes they go flying! My main job in internal threading, Guess because I good at it. But often I have to run hydraulic presses. I can't even imagine what 5 tons of force would do to your hand or...

    Door hinge issue

Here are a few pics of where the nut came off. I can see maybe 2 threads on the back side of it. Pics were taken at night, so the flash makes it difficult to see. The bushing I was talking about, is not like the one sold on Amazon. It's silver colored. Hope you can tell something from these pics?

    Door hinge issue

Hi, I know I should search my issue first. But hears what happened to me. Freezing rain and ice on my Jeep, as I left work. Frozen door handles, stayed out when opened. Not a problem, hit them my hand to close them and keep to doors from popping open. When I opened the drivers side door, I heard...

PSA: Do your self a favor and wear PPE!

As a machinist, working for a billion dollar company, They want production. But "safety first". And it's all good until someone get's hurt. Complacency they say, is one reason, perhaps. Last major accident, a guy lost 4 fingers, polishing a part on a lathe. I didn't witness it, but they say his...

    Defective tire or inexperienced installer?

The first installer who put on 4 of the tires, said they have a stiff sidewall. The second installer said it was probably a defective tire the first time. I got a new replacement tire, and they still couldn't get it mounted. Said they didn't have the correct equipment, and it's a tire shop? I...

    Defective tire or inexperienced installer?

While researching this problem, I came across videos using a bead blaster. This sounds like it would do the trick! They seemed to have no problems installing 4 of the tires. Only the spare is the problem.

My other car is a 65 Ford Falcon Futura

I agree completely. My buddy bought a brand new CJ7 in the mid 80's, and I went with him for a 100 mile ride to the Poconos. He told me to put on my seat belt, and hold on. When he hit the brakes, the seat belt kept me from sliding onto the floor. It was a manual, and I was wore out after going...

My other car is a 65 Ford Falcon Futura

I second that! All this computerized crap is nothing but trouble. You mostly have to take your car to the "dealer", and pay out the ass to get it fixed, reprogrammed or whatever... In the old days, all you needs was a screwdriver, points file, and you could fix it on the side of the road...

My other car is a 65 Ford Falcon Futura

I spent 6 months trying to get it to move. Soaked it in PB Blaster, Boiled it (as some recommenced), used a heat gun on it, was too afraid to melt it with a torch. No luck. Found a partially beat up carb in the trunk. Using a rebuild kit, I used the top half of one carb, and the bottom half of...
