So I have a thread started on my tj build. Figured I might start one in the trailer I’m building to go with it. I started by sourcing a super light weight humbaur trailer. These are made in Germany. Weigh about 600 pounds rolling down the road and are galvanized steel. The perfect base for a small overland trailer. With a tow max of 2,000 pounds on the jeep I will have 1400 pounds left for gear. Adding a overhead rack for a roof top tent. Camp kitchen, awning and the basics to go wherever whenever. This is her.
First things first. Add the timbren axleless suspension and new tires and wheels. I had hoped to use the same wheels and tires as the truck but sourcing an extra pair of 38’s just to run on a trailer seemed overkill. Although I still might. Running the 8x170mm ford wheels on it might be a challenge. We’ll see.
