What did you do to your TJ today?

Managed to salvage the zipper I busted a while ago on my brand new roof. Somehow (my impatience) the track had gotten turn around backwards inside of the slides. So I removed the metal slide stop at the end, took the slides off, and little by little got the track set back in its proper...

    Problems with Cerakote Trim Restoration

There are also air curing formulations of cerakote. Its less durable but actually higher temp, making it good for parts like silencers.

    Help buying a TJ

The Sahara is strictly a cosmetic trim. That being said, you really can't be seen on the trails without color matched fender flares can you? I wouldn't buy anything less.

    Fuel Pump Change

I used a Delphi pump in mine and it hasn't given me any trouble. I have seen a few other say the same. If you're dropping the tank you may want to use that as an opportunity to do some rust control in the area between the skid plate and the frame.

    5-speed vs 6-speed

Is "lucky" meant to be sarcastic or is that light actually considered a desirable feature? I hate mine. If I wanted the car to decide when to shift I'd have bought an automatic.

Side mirrors: old style versus new

Same here. I've cranked down on them as much as I dare and still they're loose all the time.

    Reliable fuel pump brand?

I put in a Delphi last year. So far no issues but it hasn't seen much use. Jeep was garaged all winter.

    97 4.0 won't idle

That's how it was when the pump failed on my TJ and also my Elantra. I actually drove the Elantra around like that for a while, having to keep my foot on the gas any time the clutch was depressed to keep it from dying. Not very safe but hey, I had to get places somehow.

    97 4.0 won't idle

If it doesn't end up being the IAC this sounds an awful lot like a failed check valve in the fuel pump. Its easiest to just replace the entire pump. Before your drop the whole tank for that though you can check to see if the fuel rails are holding pressure. If not I reckon you have your culprit.

    1998 TJ factory radio connections

I don't know the answer to your question but I do have a '98 Sahara I'm trying to restore to the OEM stereo with cassette player. What would you be willing to let your old one go for?

    Home of the Jeep

Hi all, I've always wanted a dark green TJ since I was a little kid. Last year some unfortunate events happened in my life but the upshot was that I ended up finally in a position to buy a jeep. I spent a couple weeks shopping and was about to give up on finding a car that matched my criteria...

Replacing half door upper frames, a few questions

Second what cpwolf said about the one pin being longer. That's how mine are and I stopped struggling once I figured it out. Assuming that's not the case and your pins really are out of alignment, you could probably just bend them back into alignment with a bench vise and a pair of pliers.

Factory radio value - is this thing worth keeping?

Hi, been lurking here for a while and meaning to make an account but your post finally gave me the impetus to do so. I have a '98 Sahara I am looking to restore to as factory as condition as possible and high up on my list of tasks is changing back to an original stereo. Does yours have the...
