That's what I've always thought too.
Will this work on the ‘99 4.0? On mopar it tries to say that part number for the water pump doesn’t fit and directs me to a different one. Also it shows no part number on mopar for the lower radiator outlet either. Just want to see if anyone has used these on a ‘99 so I can buy once and be good to go.
For some reason the Mopar parts books only show one part number for all 4 of the larger clamps. Mopar Parts Giant also said it wouldn't fit on my 2000 4.0 water pump but it did. Anyway I ordered all the part numbers per the original post and everything fit fine on my 2000. Since your 99 takes the same water pump I don't see why it won't fit.

I need to get the emergency worm drive clamp off my lower radiator hose and put back the proper clamp, But as my luck would have it my broken clamp is not marked like others earlier in this thread. I don't want to drop the hose and have the wrong clamp hence my asking for expert help.

Got the clamps in, the #42 clamp that's supposed to go on the upper radiator inlet won't work with a #50 clamp that Mopar has replaced it with. I tried it on my jeep (1997 2.5L wrangler) and it just slides over the hose. You're going to have to find a smaller one as mentioned before. I did find another source for the #42, but you have to buy five of them:

The great news is that all the other clamps in the first pose work great with the exception of the #50.

You guys should read my posts earlier in this thread … it’s pretty clear and pretty cheap.
Just wanted to add to this thread. I appreciated the Mopar part numbers in the first post, however, since there’s some weirdness with the 42 arriving as a 44 and the 47s arriving as 50s, I decided to go with Bel-Metric.
I don’t have part numbers because Bel-Metric didn’t send me any emails for my order and the website is currently down. However, the following worked perfectly:
42MM x 15MM - upper radiator
47MM x 15MM - thermostat housing
47MM x 15MM - lower radiator
55MM x 15MM - water pump inlet
27MM x 15MM - (2) heater hose
24MM X 15MM - (2) heater hose
All of them are super snug, like you’d expect stock to be. I also like how they’re all black. Overall for $26.61, I think that’s very fair.

I just read the original post and what's on this page. I've been wondering if anyone has eitheir gotten the correct new clamps or tried to reuse the original clamps and had problems with them not fitting because the replacement hose had either a thinner or thicker "wall".
Just asking because I had this issue with at least one, if not a couple MK1 VWs and everything is still original on my TJ-R except for a new Mopar water pump and I know that nothing lasts forever.

I still had some factory original clamps, and some that were replacement factory clamps from years back that I used to replace the worm gear clamps that I used when I was a jeep newbie 11 years ago. I’ve never had any trouble using any properly sized clamps on either old factory or new aftermarket replacement hoses. The hoses I’ve used (Gates and Continental) have always seemed to be about right in thickness so the clamps work.
Must be a pretty big range in those clamps, my thermostat and lower radiator have a 50mm clamp on them. When I did mine, I cleaned up the factory ones until I could read the numbers and ordered them that way.
Yeah, not sure. I got rid of most of mine early on, in 2013, and then in 2016 when I needed to do an overhaul I added them back once I learned that constant tension are better. But I struggled to find the exact right ones back then, so some I got from Amazon, some from Mopar, etc.
After researching what others removed, it seemed that most had the same MM measurements that I listed, which is why those are what I ordered from Bel-Metric. I'm glad it worked out. From the Bel-Metric website, I want to say the clamps in the 42mm range had like 5 mm diameter difference from max open to at rest.
I will say, I'm surprised a 50 could work where a 47 worked for me. That seems like a drastic difference. As far as I know the thermostat housing and radiator lower hose hookup never changed, so I would think they would all *need* a 47, but who knows.
