I have been contemplating making a recovery bridle… I know nothing about the topic and in my search for some enlightenment I stumbled across this video that explains a lot about the forces involved and the proper length which varies based on the distance between your recovery points.
I found it interesting on this fine Sunday afternoon and thought it is worth sharing for anyone else contemplating the idea.
Two things he didn’t include in the discussion is the material or how to properly size (diameter) the bridle rope… I assume it would be different if you are using it for recovery with a winch, yanking with a kinetic strap or towing with a conventional tow strap.
